Write On Con, Write On....

Ahhhhh! My EYES. MY EYES!

Just got finished with my first year as an attendee in Write On Con, heretofore referred as WOC. As a free, online writer conference, I think it is fair to say that this blogger's tushie was planted in front of a computer, still in her pjs mind you, for a total of two days. While this was fabulous for my soul, it wasn't so great on the old eyes.

Now in a new set of pjs and with teeth brushed, I bring to you a brief description of my impression of WOC.

Let me say, I am oober impressed with the organizational skills of the founders and by the amount of passion and heart of everyone involved. So much great information was offered by industry agents, editors, and authors. WOWZA!

But my favorite part, my most favoritist part in the whole entire world, was to read finally get to read the work of my friends. I feel so lucky to share the same cyberspace with these people. I would especially like to send the world a fair warning that the following people will be invading your bookstores sometime in the near future:

Bethany Telles
Carter Higgins
Julie Hedlund
Marcie Colleen
Pamela Courtney

As you can see, this list is in alphabetical order by first name for ease of reference once their books hit the stores! ;)

On another note, I am also soooo happy to announce that NEXT THURSDAY (once my old ojos have recovered from all the wonderful screen time), the BANANA PEELIN' series will be back in full effect!  Ka-POW! Can't wait and I hope to SEE you then! (Crossing my fingers on so many levels!)

  4. Glad you are recovering. ;) WOC sounded fun but way to overwhelming for the end-of-summer-already-crazy going on at my house. I'm looking forward to Julie's new group critique option where hopefully we can share more work with each other.

    1. It was quite overwhelming Hannah. And just so you know...you don't need to get up at 4:00 a.m., like I did the first morning. Sheesh! I guess that is they beauty of an online conference. It's all there, FOREVER! What was I thinking!?

Can't wait for the 12 x 12 forum. That is if my eyes recover by then! =)

  5. Umm... Ahem... You're sweet- but seriously- you're crazy! I think I can speak for all of us when I say that you are the one to watch for!! I'm sooooo proud of you!

Thank you, though, you're way too sweet!

WOC was fun... I'm still so dizzy from it all! Can't wait for next year. I think I'll know to take some Dramamine, and maybe we'll get you some Visine!! To next year!

  9. I signed up, but alas, a deadliine prevented me from attending. Not to mention it seemed SO overwhelming, so I'm going back to lurk and read everyone's stuff at leisure. So happy you were able to take part, Elizabeth, despite the loss of one of your senses! You are too cool for school, Pink Lady!

    1. Ah man! Those deadlines! We missed you! It was slightly overwhelming, but YOU my friend are GENIUS. I think lurking leisurely is the best way to to do it.
Thanks Renee, I'm definitely a beauty school dropout. =)

  10. I agree, I loved reading everyone's stories. So much talent! I wish I had gotten it together to be able to post something. **Three weeks til school starts...three weeks til school starts...three weeks til school starts...**

  11. You're the sweetest, lady. I've got "miles to go before I sleep." Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the journey. What is certain, is that we will be seeing your work for sure. LOVE your work. I had so much fun! Even though my right elbow still cramps a bit from its typing position. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me your feedback. I've not revised anything yet, still reviewing the notes. I am so proud of the 12x12'ers! Way to be brave everyone!

  12. It was my first time, too, and I was impressed, Elizabeth. Sorry I didn't get around to everyone. You were fortunate to be able to stay in your 'jamies for three days...that would be a dream come true!

Looking forward to the books published due to WriteOnCon and 12x12. Then we can say "I knew her when...!"
